Minutes was done and all cleaned up. "That will be $75" said the plumber.
The lawyer objected saying "I'm a lawyer, and I don’t even get that much an hour!" The plumber responded: "I didn't either, when I was a lawyer".

THE LUXURIOUS BILILA LODGE KEMPINSKI SCHEDULED TO OPEN IN JUNE 2009

balila_resort

Bilila Lodge Kempinski is destined to become the most luxurious lodge in the whole of East Africa

In the heart of Tanzania’s world-famous Serengeti National Park, the Bilila Lodge Kempinski is a dream hideaway, offering stunning views, and combining the height of luxury with romance and open wildlife, in the spectacular setting of the African wilderness. All of its 74 rooms, including 2 private villas, feature luxurious en-suite bathrooms, and are decorated with especially selected African artwork. The Lodge facilities include a restaurant, lobby lounge, bar, wine cellar, art gallery and gift shop. An infinity pool and an Anantara Spa are the ultimate relaxation after an exciting day of game drive. Enjoy a champagne breakfast arranged for you in the bush as the sun rises, turning the grassland from blue to gold, or try the special menu paired with exquisite African wines served in the privacy of your villa.
From small board meetings, honeymoon journeys, SPA relaxation, bush dinners, to endless views of the savannah, the Bilila Lodge Kempinski leaves nothing to be desired. The Lodge is scheduled to open in June 2009.

Large prides of lions laze easily in the long grasses, families of elephants feed on acacia bark and trumpet to each other across the plains, giraffes, gazelles, monkeys, eland, and the whole range of African wildlife can be seen in awe-inspiring numbers. The Grumeti River in the Western Corridor is the location for the dramatic river crossing during the great annual migration. Far-reaching plains of endless grass, tinged with the twisted shadows of acacia tress, have made Serengeti National Park the quintessential image of a wild and untarnished Africa, always remembered, forever cherished.

Whether people speak English or Russian, Swahili or German, they’ll stand there, speechless, and take their neighbor by the hand when, for the first time in their lives, they watch on as twenty thousand zebras and hundred thousands of wildebeests trek across the endless plains.

From “Serengeti shall not die,” filmed in 1959.

Editor’s Notes:

The Kempinski name is proudly borne by a growing collection of distinguished properties around the world. Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group, Kempinski has built its reputation on the belief that exclusivity and individuality are key elements of true luxury. Each year, an increasing number of guests come to appreciate these qualities, as Kempinski adds new hotels and resorts in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. While this growth reflects the strength and success of the Kempinski brand, the collection will remain a limited one, where exclusivity can be nurtured and individuality can flourish.

  1. Coordinate your clothes around one or two basic colors. This cuts down on the number of shoes and accessories you have to bring.
  2. Take as few clothes as possible. Plan on laundering. One person suggested one week's worth of clothes. I take fewer unless they are my washable silks.
  3. Wear and carry washable silk clothing whenever possible. It is as warm as and as cool as cotton. It dries overnight and 10-15 pieces take no more room than two pair jeans. There are some other manmade fabrics that travel as well if not better, but they cost quite a bit more.
  4. Plastic rain coat can double as a bathrobe or windbreaker.
  5. Take older clothes that can be discarded along the way. Great for growing children. Many places, the local people are pleased to get these castoffs. There are travelers who take nothing but old clothes so they have that much more room for bringing souvenirs home.

MARRAKESH - THE PEARL OF THE SOUTH

Marrakesh, the second oldest imperial city of Morocco, remains today the most amazing capital of the south and bears testimony to the historical and cultural richness of the whole country. This ochre-coloured city set in an oasis, close to the High Atlas Mountains boasts a picture perfect setting of sun, snow and palm trees.

The city's winding intricate alleys, a bustling souk in the old Medina, wide and elegant tree-lined avenues of the French-influenced Gueliz district provide a timeless allure. The bustling atmosphere of the Djemaa el Fna square with acrobats, storytellers, water sellers, dancers and musicians by day and numerous food stalls by night, is in complete contrast with the tranquillity of the city's many beautiful gardens. Everywhere though, the city's character and infectious charm shines through.

The city thrives as Morocco's cultural centre and attracts visitors throughout the year with its arts and crafts and various festivals. However, amidst all this, Marrakesh has been able to preserve its individual mystique and timeless allure.
