ELECTRONIC TICKETS

Airlines in the midst of decreasing costs have realized to opportunity of savings by increasing use of Electronic Ticket (E-Ticket). The top industry body, International Air Transportation Association (IATA), wants the 265 airlines under its wing, to achieve 100 % paper-less ticketing compliance in the next twelve months.

In Tanzania , many of the airlines have already started working on E-Tickets and will soon start charging when requested for Paper Tickets. Among the airlines are Precision Air, British Airways, KLM,

ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES

Ethiopian Airlines will boost its fleet with B787 Boeing aircraft to cater for the growing market in the region by end of next year. This was announced during the presentation for the travel agents for best performance. The airline also started a new route to Sana'a ( Yemen ) connecting through Adis Ababa, and other services.

Morning depart to AMALFI via the breathtaking Amalfi Coast . En-route you will see Positano and other picturesque fishing villages. Free time at leisure in Amalfi. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Amalfi.

DAY 5: AMALFI
Day free at leisure to discover the beauty of this wonderful coastal resort, or to explore the area. You can take a local bus and visit Positano or Ravello, or take time to relax and plunge into the water of the Mediterranean Sea . Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Amalfi.

DAY 6: AMALFI – POMPEII – ROME
Morning free at leisure. Early afternoon transfer to Pompeii where you will start your trip back to Rome . Estimated time of arrival is approximately 9.00 pm if traffic permits. You will be dropped off at the hotel. The Emerald Tour ends. Overnight at the hotel in Rome.

DAY 7: ROME
Transfer to the airport for your flight back.

A Feather in the Cap of Northwest

At the annual presentation of the Schipol Aviation Awardss, KLM's partner Northwest Airlines was among the winners. Northwest recieved the Environmet Capacity Award for the rapid phasing-out of the DC-10's at Schipol. The airline replaced all its DC-10s with A330's last October. The airbuses generate considerably less noise pollution and CO2 emissions.
